Head of EPR Practice

About the Company

MEW Consultants is a leading environmental compliance and sustainability advisory firm specializing in Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), Waste Management, Circular Economy, and Environmental Strategy Development across India. We work with leading producers, recyclers, and regulatory bodies to advance responsible resource management and sustainable business practices.

Role overview

As Head of EPR Practice at MEW Consultants, you will take full ownership of the firm’s Extended Producer Responsibility compliance and advisory vertical. The practice is operational — with an active client base, a functioning team, and CPCB portal systems already running across Battery, E-Waste, Plastic, Used Oil, Tyres, ELV, and C&D waste streams. Your role is to lead it with regulatory precision, expand it through sharper client conversations, and grow it into an independently functioning practice over time. This role reports directly to the founder.

Key responsibilities

Practice leadership

  • Lead EPR compliance delivery across all active waste streams and client accounts, ensuring quality and reliability of service.
  • Guide the team through regulatory complexity including CPCB portal operations, credit cycle management, and multi-stream filing obligations.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the operational systems and processes that keep the practice running accurately and on time.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for team members on compliance interpretation and regulatory procedure.

Client advisory

  • Lead client conversations with the depth and confidence to handle complex compliance scenarios and difficult situations.
  • Help recyclers monetise healthy credit inventories and help producers understand how EPR compliance strengthens their ESG positioning and vendor network.
  • Shift client perception of EPR compliance from a regulatory obligation to a strategic business asset.
  • Manage key client relationships with a focus on retention, trust, and long-term engagement.

Business development

  • Identify and pursue expansion opportunities within existing client relationships through upselling and cross-selling advisory services.
  • Contribute to MEW’s growth strategy at a point when EPR enforcement is tightening across every major waste stream.
  • Work toward independently owning the practice, with the goal of reducing direct dependency on the founder over time.
